# How Creator Verification Works

Source: https://sneezeindex.com/guides/creator-verification/

Creator verification confirms that the person controlling an established public creator account has claimed the corresponding SneezeIndex profile. It is designed to reduce impersonation, improve profile freshness and give creators a direct way to maintain operational information without turning verification into a paid ranking product.

## Claiming a profile\n\n
A creator begins from the Claim Existing Profile page and identifies the SneezeIndex record they want to claim. The system can issue a temporary verification code. The creator then places that code on a known public account or another approved verification location. An editor checks that the code appears on the expected account and that the account corresponds to the creator identity represented by the directory record.

## What a verified badge means\n\n
The badge means control of the creator identity has been verified through the claim process. It does not mean SneezeIndex endorses the creator, guarantees any transaction, confirms every statement in a creator’s catalog or ranks the creator above unclaimed profiles. Verification is identity-related, not a quality score.

## What verified creators can update\n\n
Verified creators can use the Creator Dashboard to submit profile text, aliases, platform links and a safe avatar. They can also update operational details such as whether customs or commissions are open and whether they are active or on hiatus. Higher-risk changes can remain in a moderation queue until an editor approves them.

## What remains editorial\n\n
Content ratings, destination safety classifications, historical evidence and moderation history remain editorial fields. This prevents a destination from being relabeled General simply to remove an adult warning and preserves useful historical information such as former aliases or closed platforms.

## Verification and privacy\n\n
SneezeIndex is interested in the creator’s public professional identity, not private personal information. Verification should not require publication of a legal name, home address or private account. The directory can usually verify identity through control of an established public creator profile.

Creators who do not want an ordinary directory listing can request removal. Privacy, impersonation and removal requests are treated as higher-priority moderation issues. Verification exists to make the directory more accurate and creator-friendly, not to force creators to reveal information they do not publish professionally.
